The MET Carpet “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” – From Runway to The MET

Monica Barbaro in Christian Dior 1947

The Met Gala red carpet, or blue carpet, as it was this year, is more than just a parade of celebrity style; it’s a living, breathing editorial spread that often echoes and amplifies the most compelling narratives from the recent runways. I love the fascinating dialogue between the high fashion presented during the SS and AW collections and the breathtaking interpretations we witnessed on the Met Gala steps. The key trends, from emerging silhouettes and groundbreaking textile innovations to recurring color palettes and influential design motifs, made their way from the catwalks of Paris, Milan, New York, and London to the most glamorous night in fashion. I love how celebrities and their stylists translated these runway visions into the Met Gala theme.
