The Variety Power of Women Luncheon is a biannual event, in Los Angeles and New York.  Women in the entertainment industry are honored for using their celebrity to give life and awareness to several charitable causes.   

Notable Honorees:

Kim Kardashian West in Narcisco Rodriguez AW15 – Children’s Hospital of LA: Participates in ground breaking pediatric medical research. 

Rachel Weisz in Givenchy PF15 – Opportunity Network: Gives underserved high school and college students access to career and educational services. 

Lena Dunham in Mary Katrantzou AW14  – GEMS (Girls Education & Mentoring Services): a non-profit founded by activist Rachel Lloyd to help young women who have experienced sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking.

Also honored are legends:

Whoopi Goldberg – Figure Skating in Harlem which combines education and figure skating to help underserved girls.

Glenn Close – Bring Change 2 Mind which is dedicated to ending the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness.
