The Japan State Dinner 

FLOTUS Michelle Obama unveiled the “Obama” China for the press before presenting at the Japan State dinner for Prime Minister Shinzo Abe & Akie Abe of Japan.  The $350k china set designed by the first lady is 11 pieces in gold, white and “Kailua” Blue which pays homage to POTUS Barack Obama’s Hawaiian roots.  

Dinner was prepared by White House Chef Cris Comerford along with celebrity Iron Chef Masaharu Marimoto a true East mets West dinner of Mizuhiki tied Caesar salad, American Wagyu Beef and tofu, soy milk cheesecake.

Guests included Elizabeth Holmes (Founder/CEO Theranos), Shonda Rhimes, George Takei, Shane Smith (VICE Media CEO), Chitose Abe (fashion designer), Ciara (wearing Walter Mendez) & Russell Wilson.

FLOTUS Michelle Obama looked statuesque and stunning in a purple, fully layered version of  a Tadashi Shoji Fall 2015 gown.  Her hair and make-up were so elegant and befitting of her elegant style.  She and fellow host POTUS Barack Obama made quite the GORG couple! What a night!
